Never heard of the new reboot to the evengelion franchise until I got this DVD from lovefilm.com. It's a movie, though I found there's also a 1.11. It's basically the entire series, but redone so that it's more awesome. For instance here are the changes:

Enhanced animation (Hellsing OVA and Ghost in the Shell Quality)

Indeph Character development

Added plot lines

Altered storyline (different places they went to and even more deph and information of the world they live in)

and so on, basically I gave it 8/10 because most of it is the same as the series, however they did alter things like Auska being in Eva unit 3 when it went crazy, The Angel that kills Rei actually ends up eating her and mutating, deaths are more vicious and generally a lot of clean up, not to mention a pilot of unit 5 that appears too.

If you still like Evangelion then these new movies are definantly worth a check out, especially as the characters seem to actually evolve as things go on and they aren't the same all the way through like the origonal series. It's definantly something to watch and I had fun with the new jokes (and fan service
